If you smell burning, see scorch marks, feel a warm outlet, or hear buzzing from a switch or panel — stop using that circuit and call a licensed electrician today. We don’t diagnose suspected faults; we hand those to our electrician partner immediately.

What We Install

Swaps, upgrades, and small additions

Anything on an existing circuit that can be isolated at the breaker. If you want a new circuit, a new outlet in a wall that doesn’t have one, or a subpanel, that’s licensed electrician work — we’ll tell you straight.

Light fixtures

Ceiling lights, pendants, chandeliers, flush mounts, vanity bars, and recessed retrofit kits. Old fixture off, new fixture on, tested, and the box is rated for the weight before we hang anything.

Ceiling fans

Standard mount, angled ceiling, or low-profile hugger. Includes proper fan-rated box check, downrod cut, blade balancing, and light kit wiring if included. Remote or wall control wired and paired.

Outlet replacement

Worn, loose, or painted-over outlets swapped for new tamper-resistant receptacles. Includes GFCI swaps in kitchens, baths, garages, and exteriors — and testing the GFCI trip before we leave.

Switches & dimmers

Single-pole, three-way, and four-way switches replaced. Dimmer upgrades with LED-compatible models so the lights don’t flicker or buzz. Wall plates included and leveled.

Smart switches & plugs

Lutron Caseta, Kasa, Leviton Decora Smart, and similar. We handle the neutral-wire check, wire it to code, and walk you through pairing it to your app and voice assistant.

Thermostats

Smart thermostat upgrades — Nest, Ecobee, Honeywell Home, and Amazon Smart Thermostat. Includes C-wire check, mounting, HVAC wire labeling, and a full heating + cooling cycle test.

Doorbells & chimes

Wired and battery doorbell swaps, including video doorbells like Ring and Nest Doorbell (wired). Chime replacement, transformer check, and app pairing.

Vanity & under-cabinet lighting

Bathroom vanity bars, LED strips under kitchen cabinets, and closet lights. Low-voltage runs kept neat, with drivers and switches hidden where possible.

Porch lights, flood lights on existing boxes, motion sensors, and post lights. Fixture swap plus a bulb upgrade — LED equivalents recommended so you’re not up a ladder every season.

Minnesota requires a licensed electrician for anything involving the panel, new circuits, service upgrades, and permit work. We don’t touch it. It protects you, your insurance, and your home.

Labor only unless noted. Fixtures, smart devices, and any specialty parts are bought at your approval — no markup, receipt shared. Second hour onward billed at $65/hour when bundled into the same visit.

Before we arrive

Five minutes on your end saves twenty on the invoice. None of this is required — it just helps.

Clear the work area

Push furniture away from the wall, remove fragile items from shelves, and clear the counter below the fixture. We use drop cloths, but open space speeds everything up.

Have the new fixture ready

Unbox it, keep the hardware bag and instructions together, and check that all listed parts are included. Missing parts turn a 30-minute job into a return trip.

Know your panel location

We’ll shut the circuit off while we work. Knowing where the panel is (and that you have access) saves a walk-around at the start of the job.

Snap a photo of the current setup

If you’re booking over text, a photo of the existing fixture or switch helps us bring the right parts and check the box type before we arrive.

Quick Answers

Common electrical questions

Are you a licensed electrician?

No — we’re a licensed and insured handyman service. We handle fixture swaps, outlet and switch replacements, and smart-device installs on existing circuits. Anything that touches the panel, requires a new circuit, or needs a permit goes to our licensed electrician partner.

Can you add a new outlet?

If there’s an existing outlet nearby we can sometimes tap into it — but adding a brand-new receptacle in a wall that doesn’t already have wiring is electrician and permit work in Minnesota. We’ll do the wall patch after the electrician is done.

Will you replace a breaker for me?

No. Breaker replacement is panel work and requires a licensed electrician. We’ll refer you to one of our partners and can schedule our own work around their visit if you want help afterwards.

Do you install smart switches that need a neutral wire?

Yes. We check for a neutral in the box before starting. If your home is older and doesn’t have neutrals in the switch boxes, we’ll tell you upfront and recommend smart switches that work without one — like Lutron Caseta.

Do you provide the fixture or do I buy it?

Either. Most homeowners buy their own so it matches the room, and we install it. If you’d rather we source it, we buy at your approval and share the receipt — no markup.

What about old knob-and-tube wiring?

We don’t touch knob-and-tube. It’s a licensed-electrician job because of the fire risk during any modification. If your home still has it, we’ll tell you what we see and connect you with a partner who specializes in it.
